Vineyard car boot and farmers market

Saturday 21st July saw the launch of the first ever Vineyard Car Boot Sale, Farmers Market & Craft Fair on the new Vineyard site on Hillmans Way, off the Ballycastle Road.

With over 120 pitches and an estimated 400+ people attending the event, the launch was a massive success for Vineyard Compassion! The weather was fantastic and the cars and people just kept on coming throughout the morning. At one point, cars were even lined up the length of Hillmans Way.

Ricky Wright, Director of Vineyard Compassion said ‘Feedback throughout the morning was very positive with many commenting to the team: “Thanks for a very well-run event”, “You’ve a perfect site with huge indoor and outdoor space”, “I loved the onsite car parking”. Ricky continued ‘We were able to raise just over £1100 throughout the morning for Vineyard Compassion’s work in tackling poverty in the local area. This amount exceeded our expectations and will help to fund projects like our CAP Debt Centre, Wear House (Clothing Bank) and the Sunday Food Giveaway!’

The atmosphere throughout the morning was incredible with a great sense of community as so many people were packed onto the site, enjoying hot food and a cup of coffee with live music in the background. Kids got to play on the bouncy castle and their faces painted all for free. If you didn’t make it along, the Vineyard Car Boot Sale, Farmers Market & Craft Fair will now run every 3rd Saturday of the month. So put Saturday 18th August in your diary 9am – 1pm (sellers set up from 8am) and book a pitch to sell some great local produce.
