Vintage boost for Roddensvale pupils

A GRAND total of £715 was handed over by Ballynure Vintage Tractor Ploughing Society to Roddensvale School.

The money was raised at a barbecue back in July, held at the home of Mr and Mrs Ian McKee, Glynn.

As society chairman Allen McAnally recalled, “It was a very successful evening. On the night, we raised £515, leaving aside some money for the food, but Jackson’s Butchery and Bakery, Ballynure kindly donated the food free of charge, which meant we were able to add another £200, giving us a total of £715 for Roddensvale Special School.

“I’d like to thank Mr and Mrs McKee for the use of their facilities, Jackson’s of Ballynure for kindly donating the food, and anyone who helped in any way.

“It’s raised by local people, for a local charity and it will be put to good use. They’re doing an excellent job at Roddensvale, and the money will be used for teaching the kids music”

A spokesperson for Roddensvale School thanked the Ballynure Society for their generosity.
