Virtual Flower Show

THE borough's virtual gardeners have been focused on their entries for Carrick Council's annual challenge.

Carrickfergus in Bloom Virtual Flower Show encourages residents to show off their photographic and gardening skills in an internet-based competition.

The 2010 winners and runners-up (respectively) are as follows:

My Garden - Pink Flowers by Shelley Malcolmson; Peace by Joyce Kernohan. My Favourite Outdoor Plant - Snowdrops by Phil Hodges; Clematis by Gladys Blair

My Favourite Indoor Plant - Bloomin Clivia by Jean McCullough; Hothouse Orchid by Brian Anderson. My Favourite Landscape / Garden Setting - Arcadia by Brian Kelley; Tulips by Terry Cooper.

Flowers in their natural, wild setting - Rustic Bluebells by David Jackson; Rockingham Forest by Park Harry Bates. Flowers with pets or other animals - Peek-a-boo by Joanne Campbell; My Orange Clivia by Harry Bates.
