Vis Art Club continues to go from strength to strength

WITH the support of the Braid Arts Centre, Ballymena Vis art club will be back in the town hall for its annual exhibition in March. Around 120 pictures will be on display from Wednesday March 24 until Friday March 25 from 11.00am -4.30pm with late night opening from 6.30pm - 9.30pm.

On Saturday March 26 the pictures will be on display from 11.00am to 4.30pm. There will be a wide range of work on show, local scenes, seascapes, flowers and portraits in a variety of media, water colour, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen and wash and gouache.

Most will be for sale and a percentage of the sales plus all catalogue sales will go to the charity McMillan Cancer Support, who do such a valuable and much needed job for the community.

With the support of Michelin and its social club, the art club meets each Wednesday morning and runs from September to Christmas and then on to the spring. It’s a busy lively morning with members meeting up to paint and socialise. They have the benefit of several local tutors who are there to help and advise. New members are always welcome and if interested have a word with one of the committee during the exhibition.

The have had some excellent demonstrations from invited artists this year.

Tommy McGoldrick (acrylic) Paul Holmes (Pastel Portrait) Hanson Blair (oil) and Paul Wilson (Pastel Portrait) Hanson Blair also tutored a very successful full day work shop in oil and water colour.
