vision4kids collection in Ballymoney

Local children’s charity vision4kids will be holding their annual street collection in Ballymoney this coming Saturday, October 5th.

All monies raised will go towards various projects among the needy children of Kiambururu, a village one hour north of Nairobi, Kenya. Charity chairman and Ballymoney man Irwin Holmes said: “Over the years the people of the town have provided fantastic support and we have been so encouraged by their generosity and best
wishes.

“In the past year the team have established a child sponsor programme for some orphans of the village and now run a school meal project where we know the most needy are getting at least one cooked meal a day in school – we couldn’t have done this without the help of Ballymoney folk. Thank you.

“We now have plans to build a new school classroom to extend a small primary school to ensure children can continue to be taught close to their homes.

“This year the team will introduce a number of large blue barrels where you can quickly throw in your donation to ensure traffic continues to flow through the town. If you see the team in their yellow Hi Vis vests and blue buckets, why not show them your support.”
