Visit made by Abbot to St Mary's Limavady

SIXTH Form pupils greeted Abbot Edmund Power, Head of St Paul's Basilica in Rome when he paid a visit to St Mary's in Limavady on Tuesday last.

Many of the students had attended an award ceremony the previous evening in the Millennium Forum for the distribution of the Pope John Paul II medals and certificates. The Abbot was the main guest for the award's ceremony. Following morning mass in St Mary's Church, the Abbot joined the pupils for light refreshments and then gave an interesting talk to the students in the Lecture Theatre. Staff and pupils were also joined by Father Paul Farren, the Diocesan Adviser and Father Edward Gallagher, the School Chaplain.
