Visitors see Whitehead’s sights

Whitehead artist Steve Diamond led a free walking tour of the village’s sights on Sunday August 4.

Taking place as part of the Whitehead Festival, the tour started at Blackhead car park, with Steve telling visitors about wildlife in the area as well as the history behind some of the older buildings.

Some of the local churches opened for the tour and showed their ornate carvings and stained glass windows, with the group also visiting The Gallery on Cable Road and Whitehead excursion station, headquarters of the Railway Preservation Society Ireland.
