Vitamin D study: milk drinkers call

Milk drinkers are wanted for a vitamin D study being carried out by the NI Centre for Food and Health at UUC.

If you are a healthy individual aged between 20 and 40 years, and a consumer of pasteurised cow’s milk, the Centre needs your help to carry out a research study entitled:

‘Investigation of the sensory characteristics and acceptability of vitamin D3 fortified semi-skimmed milk.’

Participants will be asked to attend the Sensory Analysis Suite within the University of Ulster, Coleraine on a day or time convenient to them.

- On two occasions (at least four days apart), participants will be asked to test three samples of semi-skimmed milk some of which will be fortified with vitamin D3 then complete a short questionnaire.

A range of questionnaires (food frequency questionnaire, health and lifestyle, sun exposure etc) and measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, muscle strength, bone scan) will be collected over the study course in additional to a small blood sample.
