Volunteering award for Gateway’s Connor

A Carrickfergus man has picked up a volnuteering accolade in recognition of his work with a local club.

Carrickfergus Junior Gateway Club treasurer, Connor Simms, was given the Finn McCool award by his workplace PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

The PwC Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the work and commitment of PwC staff in Northern Ireland, a spokesperson said.

“This is the second year of the awards, which are open to the more than 1,200 people in our Belfast and Linen Green offices PwC staff are invited to nominate colleagues and teams for one (or more) of the eight major award categories,” the spokesperson added.

“The theme for the 2015 Awards was Bright Sparks and the PwC NI Awards now link to the UK-wide PwC Awards, with our regional winners automatically entered into the National PwC Awards which take place in London in June.

“Our aim is to recognise and reward the commitment, hard work and achievement of our people in NI who are ‘doing the right thing ‘and to celebrate the very best of ‘who we are’.

“Connor Simms was awarded the Finn McCool Award - Sustainability and Community Affairs. This award is for those who continuously drive sustainability with our clients, our people or our communities.”
