Last year almost 700 volunteers placed through Causeway Volunteer Centre gave over 110,000 hours to organisations in Coleraine, Ballymoney and Moyle – helping with children, young people, older people, people with disabilities, driving, fundraising, befriending, mentoring, marshalling, sporting activities, animals, charity shops, office work... the list is endless.

Using the UK Gold Standard for measuring volunteer impact, in economic terms, that equates to well over £1.5 million. So well done to all the volunteers!

Congratulations also to Esther, Alison and Lee who won the Christmas raffle!

Volunteers are crucial to countless organisations and many could not carry on the good work they do without them.

Causeway Volunteer Centre would just like to say a massive thank you and Merry Christmas to all of the volunteers in the area for everything they do on a daily basis!

Stephanie added: “We’d also like to say a big thank you to the volunteer placement organisations that supported all the volunteers throughout the year and look forward to working with them in 2015 as we roll out our new volunteer management training programme and our accredited train the trainer for those involved in mentoring and befriending.”
