Volunteers are vital says mental health charity

MENTAL health charity Aware Defeat Depression, which provides specialist services for people with depression to help them recover their mental health and enjoy life again, say they couldn’t do this vital work without their amazing volunteers.

Siobhan Doherty, CEO with Aware Defeat Depression said: “We rely on our volunteers to facilitate around 20 local support groups across the province. Without them we simply wouldn’t be able to provide our services in so many locations.

“Every one of our volunteers has a different reason for volunteering with us, but what keeps them coming back to the groups week on week is that they get a sense of satisfaction from helping people recover from depression.”
