Volunteers lift over 10 bags of rubbish from Castlemara

Residents have undertaken a sterling job cleaning up in the Castlemara area of Carrickfergus.

Volunteers cleaned up the local streets, park and green spaces.

In total, the 10 volunteers were able to lift over 10 bags of rubbish from the area, making it a safe and more enjoyable place to live, says Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.

The local government authority added the initiative also gave participants “true enjoyment and sense of civic pride created having looked tidied local area”.

“We continue to encourage people to use the bins provided and to take any rubbish home with you, when out and about.

“Well done again to all involved,” Mid and East Antrim Borough Council stated.
