Volunteers needed for Tesco effort

For one day only Tesco have kindly agreed to let Action MS fundraise at each of their stores in Northern Ireland. To raise as much money as possible we need as many volunteers to collect at the Ballymena Store, on Saturday, August 28.

If you can spare an hour or two of your time, your help would be greatly appreciated. Help is particularly needed at the Ballymena and Antrim stores.

Northern Ireland has the second highest incidence of MS per head of population in the world. The cause of MS remains unknown and as yet there is no cure but most symptoms can be treated. Action MS, Northern Ireland’s multiple sclerosis charity supports people living with multiple sclerosis, their families and carers.

Action MS Chief Executive Ann Walker MBE said Tesco’s generous offer provided an invaluable opportunity for the charity, she said: “All Action MS support services are offered free of charge to anybody with MS and also to their families and carers. The Tesco Big Collection Day is a great opportunity for us to raise as much money as possible in support of Action MS services.”

Ann said: "Action MS is a caring and consumer-led organisation providing a range of support services, including legal advice, advocacy, befriending, support for young people with MS, support for children who have a parent with MS, reflexology, a holiday home in Portstewart, information and advice. Action MS also supports Medical Research.”
