Volunteers needed to help the elderly

Throughout the Lisburn area there are many elderly people who are at risk from isolation and loneliness.

This lack of social interaction can be detrimental to an elderly person’s health.

Crossroads In Your Prime Project aims to tackle this issue by reaching, empowering and connecting older people through interaction with each other.

They want to attract older volunteers who are willing to support and encourage elderly people, by building friendships, whilst also inspiring older people to contribute their skills and life experience.

The service they need help with is:-Befriending service – volunteers pop in once a week to visit an elderly person for a chat.
