Volunteers praised by charity

Ballymoney volunteers have been praised for their amazing support for a children’s charity – but more help is needed to cope with demand.

Over the last year, local people have donated over 3000 hours of their own time in aid of Barnardo’s Ballymoney shop on Main Street. However, the charity needs even more volunteers in order to raise as much money as possible for vulnerable children.

In advance of national Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7) Barnardo’s is inviting people to support its Ballymoney shop.

Barnardo’s NI Retail manager Diane Winter said, “At the moment we have five people who support our shop on a regular basis, but every hour is appreciated. We would not be able to function without them helping behind the till, sorting our stock or filling our shelves. Thanks to their dedication and commitment we are able to continue raising much-needed funds in aid of less-advantaged children. We offer the chance to join a small but friendly team who work together to help children to turn their lives around.”
