“The men took a sum of cash and a mobile phone from the boy, who suffered minor injuries during his ordeal. The river path is quite remote and no one else was in the area at the time to witness the attack. However, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have picked up on any information about the incident in the days since Sunday.

“If you have any information relating to this robbery please contact Ballymena detectives on the non-emergency number 101. Or, you can contact Crimestoppers on the non-emergency number 0800 555 111.“
