The application by Get Set Wet for land adjacent to 76 Burnquarter Road attracted one letter of objection.

The scheme was for the creation of a waterway for wakeboard instruction with ancillary buildings and car parking.

The refusal was based on the new building not visually integrating into the landscape, noise having a detrimental impact, adverse effect on an archaeological site of local importance and flood risk.

Speaking at a meeting of Ballymoney Council, Cllr John Finlay asked for an MLA office meeting to discuss the matter further. “I don’t see what the problem is. It would integrate well,” he said.
