The Assemblyman says he secured the probe following a written question to the Regional Development (DRD) Minister, Danny Kennedy.

In his reply Mr Kennedy confirmed that the interdepartmental ‘Flood Investment Planning Group’, led by his department, is to coordinate an investigation into the recent flooding at Wakehurst Park ”to examine what can be done to reduce the risk of flooding in the area”.

Mr Swann commented: “This is a common sense decision by the Minister and I welcome the investigation.

“We, and especially the residents of Wakehurst Park, not only need to know how a flood occurred, but also how such incidents can be prevented in the future,” he added.
