Walk of Witness

A TEAM of churchgoers carried a 14-foot cross from Waringstown to Donaghcloney to reinforce the Easter message.

The three and a half mile walk on Good Friday was part of a nationwide ‘Walk of Witness’ event.

Clare Kakuru, Curate of Waringstown and Donaghcloney Church of Ireland explained: “The idea came from somebody within our own congregation."

Bishop of Down and Dromore, Harold Millar attended the event and said: "Walk of Witness is a reminder to the world around of the most important thing on the most important day - the means by which our souls are saved, the Cross of Jesus.”
