Walking across Europe... but going nowhere!

A LURGAN man is set to trek across Europe - all in the one room.

Queen's Walk man, Paul McDonald will be walking 1,115 miles on a treadmill - the equivalent distance from the Marie Curie Cancer Centre in Belfast to Marie Curie's house in Warsaw, Poland.

For 13 weeks Paul will walk an average of 13 miles a day.

"The toughest part will be the boredom," said Paul.

"I have been preparing with walks between Lurgan and Portadown and they have been fantastic with so much to see - the treadmill is a very different prospect.

"But raising money for such a good cause will help drive me on."

The 46-year-old will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

"My father-in-law, Bobby Alexander, was treated in the Marie Curie Centre before he passed away in December 2008," said Paul.

"They provided such a great level of care, I really wanted to give something back to thank them."
