Walking for Roddensvale

A LARNE man's fundraising mission in aid of Roddensvale school and national charity Help for Heroes is set to continue later this month with a four-mile sponsored walk.

Conrad Williams, whose son Finlay suffers from cerebral palsy and is a pupil, has organised several events as part of an ongoing fundraising drive. His campaign has already raised well over 1,000, but the devoted dad is aiming to reach the spectacular sum of 35,000 and has vowed to use the money to help build an outdoor play area.

The sponsored walk on Saturday, May 29 will start at the Shadow Rooms car park from 10.30am and finish at the British Legion. Mr Williams urged as many people as possible to take part in the event.

He said: “Whether it is to get fit, remember a loved one or make new friends, everyone is invited. So why not come along for a gentle stroll, bring your children and support the local community by joining in this fabulously fun event?”

Sponsorship forms are available from the Shadow Rooms, Pigeon Club, British Legion, Chekkers Wine Bar and Roddensvale.
