Wanda Gordon, from Ardnabrocky, Drumahoe, competed in the first heat of the talent competition on Monday night’s Paul Doherty Show on Drive 105.3, singing a belting rendition of Tina Turner’s ‘River Deep Mountain High’. She now needs the public to Text ‘Drive 14’ to 70099 if she is to survive the cut for next week’s show.

“The heats will run for four weeks and there will be a grand final on March 20 in the Everglades Hastings Hotel,” she said. “Heat one was on Monday night live on Drive 105.3. It was good, I got some positive feedback and some negative feedback, but the only thing that will save me is the public vote.

“The talent on the show is fantastic and the talent is absolutely amazing, but it is all about the voting. I am pushing my vote for the Jigsaw Project because I have a 15-year-old autistic daughter and Jigsaw made all the difference to her.

“If I win I will be giving £1,000 from the prize money and the proceeds of the Drive CD recording deal to The Jigsaw Project,” she said.
