War veterans pay tribute to fallen comrades
Ninety-year-old Bob Wright BEM from Carnmoney said he was “honoured” to take part in the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance in Belfast on October 19.
More than 2,000 people gathered at the Waterfront Hall to commemorate and celebrate the unique contribution made by servicemen and women since the First World War.
Mr Wright, who served as an Army Commando, said: “It is an honour to take part in the service this evening and remember the sacrifices of those that fought and continue to fight in service of our nation.”
He is pictured at the event with fellow World War II veterans Thomas Asher and Charles McIntyre.
The Royal British Legion launched the annual Northern Ireland Poppy Appeal on Thursday, October 24.
