Warm welcome in Carrick for American footballers

Mid and East Antrim Mayor Councillor Audrey Wales MBE welcomed a visiting American Football team to the borough on Sunday.

The mayor met the Danville Centre College American football team at Carrick Town Hall on Sunday.

Cllr Wales said: “I was delighted to welcome our USA visitors to the historic town of Carrickfergus, especially so given our ‘sister city’ arrangements with Danville.

“This all began a decade go with the original Danville/Carrickfergus Sister Cities relationship being established and now carried on under Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.”

Cllr Wales visited Danville in March.

“I spent several days there getting to know Danville and enjoyed the warm welcome I received,” she added.
