Warning after car theft surge

A SURGE in car thefts in Lurgan has prompted police to urge owners to be extra vigilant.

In one incident a navy blue Shogun jeep was stolen from Silverwood Green on Wednesday, September 19.

It was recovered in West Belfast on September 23.

There have also been attempts to steal vehicles in the area as well.

On Thursday morning September 20 there was an attempt to enter a silver Ford Fiesta at Victoria Street Place.

Police are reminding vehicle owners to ensure that their car is locked and secured when unattended. If possible, park your car in a garage or restrict access to your property with locked gates. Close all windows and sun roofs and lock doors and boot and never leave valuables in your vehicles.
