The advice follows an incident in the Cranny Lane area of Portadown today, June 4. Around 10.15am a blue Subaru Impreza car, with four males on board, pulled up in Cranny Lane.

Three of the males got out of the car and were making their way to the rear of the house when they observed the occupant at the window. The males then made off in the car at speed towards Craigavon.

In another incident earlier this week a white Transit van was observed in the area of Lakelands around the time a burglary took place.

Sergeant Alwyn Peters, Brownlow Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I cannot stress how important it is for us to receive information as soon as you notice suspicious activity. If you see a suspicious vehicle in your area please phone us immediately and write down details of the vehicle and the registration.

“The registration of a vehicle can help us to trace the owner and ascertain what their business in your area was. If we receive information of suspicious activity we can respond immediately, meaning there is a greater opportunity to prevent or detect a crime.

“If you are not sure if something is suspicious we would still like to hear from you. We would much rather check out something that turns out to be untoward than miss the opportunity to catch a criminal.

“We can be contacted on the 101 non-emergency number or 999 in an emergency.”
