Warning of fallen trees as high winds hit

Drivers are being warned to take extra care as high winds batter the province.

Police say they are already getting reports of trees down.

The Drumnacanvy Road in Portadown was reported to have been blocked by a fallen tree with Road Service working to clear it..

NI Traffic Watch also reports the following roads closed:

Charlestown Road, Craigavon has been closed due to a fallen tree.

Artabrackagh Road, Portadown has been closed due to a fallen tree.

Kennedy Road, Killylea, Armagh has been closed.

If you come across any fallen trees, call Road Service on 0300 200 7892. If it requires immediate attention and you think it will cause a crash, call police on 101.

Drivers are urged to expect the unexpected. Slow down, especially going round corners.
