Warrant issued for arrest of man on knife charges

A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a Ballymena man who has failed to appear in court on a number of charges.

Alan David McCroary (21), of Camberwell Way, is accused of two charges of possessing a knife in a public place; assault occasioning actual bodily harm; common assault; failing to provide a specimen of breath; and possessing a class C drug, diazepam.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on February 8 last year.

It is understood that McCroary is currently out of the country in connection with his work.

At previous court appearances, District Judge Des Perry has expressed concern about the delay in getting the defendant before the court to answer the charges.
