Was angry at barking dog

Angry at the barking of his neighbour's dog a 32-year-old man began to throw eggs, tomatoes and onions into his garden.

Jakub Jakubowski, Old School House Mews, Dollingstown, appeared last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

He admitted that between December 21 last year and January 26 this year he pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

The court heard that on January 26 the defendant had thrown items including eggs, tomatoes and onions into the garden of the injured party.

Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said this had been going on for a long period of time. He added that it had been brought home to his client that he simply could not behave in this fashion. Mr Downey said Jakubowski had no difficulty with his neighbour, just with the dog.

Deputy District Judge Oonagh Mullan said that while there may have been noise issues with the dog the defendant could not take into this his own hands to make life difficult for his neighbour.
