She began to swear at police and was told to stop shouting and swearing.

A nurse told police Smith was running in and around the area, interfering with care for patients and causing distress to families.

As she was arrested she began to pull away and had to be handcuffed.

She calmed down in the police vehicle and was brought home.

A solicitor representing the defendant said she had been drinking too much and her friend collapsed and was rushed to hospital.

Smith followed her to hospital and was annoyed at not being able to see her friend.

Deputy District Judge Gerry Trainor said that Smith had previous convictions for disorderly behaviour, breach of probation and dishonesty on her record which were ingredients for prison.

He adjourned sentencing until July 20 so that a pre-sentence report could be obtained.
