Was riding a motorbike with dog on lead running alongside

While riding a motorbike a 52-year-old woman had her dog on a lead running alongside her, Banbridge Magistrates Court heard last Thursday.

Sherie Rose Noone, Kilntown Road, Dromore, admitted not having insurance for the motorbike on October 2 last year.

For this offence she was fined £250, banned for four months and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

She was also fined £60 for driving in a manner where she did not have proper control.

The court heard that she was seen riding the motorbike in Kilntown Road and the dog, which was on a lead, was running alongside her. She did not have insurance.

Noone, who pleaded guilty herself in the court, said the dog was a Siberian Husky.

She explained that her mate died and she could not get up the hill because of asthma so she took the bike which was 30 years old. It has been sold.

District Judge John Meehan pointed out that this was the defendant’s third no insurance offence and she was ‘skating on very thin ice’.
