Was well-known as a postman in Dromore

A retired postman from Dromore has passed away.

Mr Hugh Scott of Maypole Road, died at the age of 75 at Craigavon Aea Hospital.

He was the dearly loved husband of Maureen who preceded him 17 years ago.

Hugh was a loving father to Ruth, Sharon and Cherith and father-in-law of Brian, Stephen and Sam.

He was adored by his grandchildren Philip, Jamie, Nathan, Jessica and Thomas.

He is survived by brothers William, Tom and Joe Scott and sisters Sally and Lily and family circle.He was preceded by sisters May and Muriel.

Hugh was well known and respected by all who knew him.

He always had time to chat or help anyone and was always cheerful.He had been an Elder, Sunday School Superintendant and Boys’ Brigade Captain in First Dromore Presbyterian Church.

Mr Scott was part of Dromore Reformed Presbyterian Church where he was held in the highest esteem.

His minister Rev. David McCullough paid a glowing tribute to him at the service in Dromara Reformed Church and told a large congregation how Hugh had trusted the Lord as his Saviour from the age of 12.

His passing will be keenly felt by his family and family circle.

Burial was to Dromore New Cemetery. RJ Poots & Co directed the funeral.
