He said: “I am pleased to visit InVOLve House to see and hear about the very valuable work that is carried out by Cookstown and Magherfelt Volunteer Centre, in helping the disadvantaged and disabled of our society, and the Base ‘Drop-In’ Centre, in providing support to those with learning disabilities - which is very much at the forefront of developing and improving services in this area.

“InVOLve House is an excellent example of voluntary and statutory sectors working together, with the full involvement and active participation of service users. This facility is right in the centre of the community and provides a lifeline to many with the services it provides.

“I commend the staff for their work and also acknowledge the dedication of volunteers who provide their services and their skills freely and without fail. I know their efforts are not in vain and that the ongoing work in this area opens a greater range of opportunities for clients and greatly enhances their lives.”
