The people of Cookstown came out in force for the Darkness into Light charity walk and run on Saturday morning to raise funds and awareness for mental health charities.

Organised by Pieta House, this year’s event in Cookstown was being held in association with The Niamh Louise Foundation, which provides a safe environment for people with suicidal ideation and/or engaging in self-harm.

Pieta House is a suicide and self-harm crisis centre founded in Lucan, Co. Dublin in 2006.
