Watch out, say police

POLICE are urging the public in Ballymoney Borough to be wary of potential bogus callers to their doors.

Inspector David Anderson of Ballymoney PSNI told the Times: “We have received a couple of reports where, although the visits to people’s doors may have been genuine, the householders thought there was something suspicious.”

He said householders should always ask for identification from callers and if the resident is unhappy they should check out callers by means of a phone call or close the door and call the police and take a vehicle registration number if possible.

Police can be contacted on 08456008000 or call the Crimestoppers number on 0800555111.
