The Derry boys came from five points down edge out the Kieran Donaghy-inspired team on Sunday.

Donaghy ran riot in the first half, grabbing virtually every high ball hoisted into the square, and winning two penalties after fouls by Chrissy McKaigue.

But it was McKaigue who was to have the last laugh, as he fired over an inspirational point for Slaughtneil as they dominated the final quarter of what was one of the most thrilling and incident-laden games of gaelic football.
