Watch: Stunning new Copper Locks hair salon opens in Cookstown

A young Cookstown woman has joined the ranks of the town’s entrepreneurs after opening her first hair salon at the tender age of 24.

Lynette Bell’s new Union Street salon is aptly named Copper Locks in ode to her beautiful red hair.

“My ambition from an early age has always been to manage my own business,” she told the Mail.

“Being a natural red head there was no other option but to call my salon Copper Locks!”.

Although still young enough to remember dreaming of a career in hairdressing as a little girl - after eight years in the industry you would think she is an old hand.

“I have invaluable experience and during that time I have furthered my ability and perfected my expertise in cutting and styling, colouring, blow drying, up styles and curls whilst specialising in bridal hair and make up.

“I pursued a career in hairdressing due to my creativity and good eye for fashion, styles and latest trends,” she went on.

“This led me to enhance my knowledge and skills by doing training in areas such as hair extensions and make up artistry.”

As well as doing the up styles and cuts she is passionate about, the young hairdresser specialises in bridal hair and also offers make-up services at her funky new salon.

“I like doing up-styles and blow dries,” she told the Mail. “But I do make-up as well.

“I am so excited,” she said. “It’s going great.”

Grateful that she has been lucky enough to be able to open her own hair studio, the former Studio Six and Hair by Halo snipper said she is offering a number of great upcoming deals and promotions... so watch this space.
