Watch: West End star has ‘Wicked’ time at Mid Ulster School of Music

The Mid-Ulster School of Music welcomed a famous face to their premises on Friday as West End Star Kerry Ellis took part in a workshop with some of the school’s students.

Ms Ellis who is one of the school’s patrons alongside Olivia Nash, flew in to help the school celebrate it’s 10th Birthday.

Star of Wicked! Ms Ellis joined Director of the Mid Ulster School of Music Fiona Donaghy along with tutors and students as they enjoyed a musical masterclass from the talented singer.

Ms Ellis is currently starring in the West End Hit musical Wicked! and has previously performed with Brian May from Queen in the Candle light tours.

The talented actress and singer is known as the first lady of the West End and has also performed lead roles in Oliver, Les Miserables and We Will Rock You.

She has performed internationally including performances at the Royal Variety Performance, at the Laurence Olivier Awards, duetting with Barry Manilow on BBC Television, Alan Titchmarsh Show, BBC Breakfast, at the Henley Festival alongside John Barrowman, the Queen’s Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace and recently a run of An Audience With Kerry Ellis at the Shaw Theatre.

Ms Ellis treated pupils to an excellent musical masterclass which was enjoyed by all and the pupils had the chance to perform some pieces they had prepared especially for the celebrations.
