Water scare at £10m centre
CARRICKFERGUS Amphitheatre is scheduled to reopen tomorrow (Thursday) after the discovery of a build up of sediment in water tanks led to its closure last week.
The leisure centre shut temporarily on Friday to facilitate a ‘deep cleanse’ operation of the pipe and tank system. This was to flush out the sediment which, if left untreated, could have provided a harbour for harmful organisms.
