Waterside getsset for huge party in park

THE hugely successful Waterside Links community festival will take place at the end of July in St Columb’s Park.

After its success over the last two years the Waterside Area Partnership (WAP) have announce that the massive and fun-packed festival will take place in the park on Saturday, July 28 from 12pm to 4pm.

Community Liaison Officer, Louise Moore who is organising the event is delighted that communities and individuals are participating in the event by organising their own stalls for the event, for example cakes, craft, bric-a-brac and even a few games.

She said: “The festival will be holding a taster session that will include food from all over from all over the world, which this year Belfast’s famous Mela is organizing.

“There will also be a programme of events including Salsa Dancing, Flamenco dancing, Bollywood, Mandarin Children’s Choir, Ronan Kearney and much much more!

“For entertainment value there will be a Face Painters, Balloon Modeling, Shooting Tent, Bouncy Boxing, or if you want to feel like Spiderman for the day why not try out the Fly Wall? There are also bouncy castles, an assault course, Slides and loads more to enjoy on the day. There is no entrance fee to the event!”

Beauticians will be on hand on the day to pamper the ladies and for the men we are hoping that a few cars might tickle their interest!

“Food will be available throughout the day with a BBQ on offer, a burger van, tea and coffee van, Dinky Donuts, Man of Aran fudge and Ice-Cream Van for anyone with a sweet tooth.

“Lastly we have a couple of competitions this year – firstly we have Waterside Hip-Hop finale on the day so come down and support your communities!!

And after the success of last years ‘Are you the A Team of the Waterside?’
