The festival will take place on Saturday (July 20) from 12pm to 5pm in St Columb’s Park. Community liaison officer, Louise Moore, said she was delighted communities and individuals are participating in the event by organising their own stalls, bric-a-brac and games.

She said: “The festival will be holding a taster session that will include food from all over the world. There will also be a programme of events including salsa dancing, flamenco dancing, Bollywood, Mandarin Children’s Choir, and much, much more.

“For entertainment value there will be face painters, balloon modelling, shooting tent, bouncy boxing, or if you want to feel like Spiderman for the day why not try out the Fly Wall. There are also bouncy castles, an assault course, slides and loads more to enjoy on the day.”

There will also be beauticians on the day to hamper the ladies and for the men the organisers are hoping a few cars will tickle their interest.

The event is free. For further information contact the Waterside Area Partnership on 02871349594.
