Waterside man faces child porn charges
A 51-year-old Waterside man is to stand trial at Londonderry Crown Court accused of making indecent images of a child.
Robert Geoffrey Ferris, of Ivy Mead, faces seven charges of making indecent images and one of possessing an indecent photo of a child between September 2008 and July 2011.
During a brief hearing at the local magistrates court on Friday, Ferris declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any witnesses. When asked by the clerk of the court the 51-year-old replied ‘no, not at this stage’.
Defence solicitor Maeliosa Barr accepted there is a case for his client to answer.
Ferris was released on his own bail of £500 and will appear at the crown court for arraignment on August 28.
