The offences relate to an alleged incident, which the court was advised, took place on February 18 of this year.

An investigating officer from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) told Londonderry Magistrates Court that he believed that he could connect the forty-five-year-old man to the charges.

The man’s defence solicitor Paddy Kelly asked for arrangements to be made with police for O’Doherty to go an address that he is banned from as part of his bail conditions.

The request was made in order to allow the defendant collect his belongings and medical equipment.

The defendant was released on bail but must appear again in court in relation to the charges on June 4.
