Waterside Voices-Spring 2010 issue

WATERSIDE Voices, having survived the severe winter, is presenting its Spring 2010 issue, which once again has offerings from many and various contributors.

Les Heatley remembers boyhood memories in his ‘Expedition to the Boiles’. Esther Scobie recalls schooldays in ‘Snowfall - A Boyhood Memory’, in ‘Going Back’.

Norma Malcolm again tells of the view ‘From My Window’ and also contributes ‘Washday in the 1920’s’. Popular columnist Isobel Arbuckle in ‘Visitors’ recalls happy memories of the people who called at Alfred Street.

In his fascinating article, ‘Sergeant James Donnelly’, Barry Williamson relates the soldiering life of his Great Great Grandfather, which took him from Hong Kong to the Crimea. Mark Lusby ‘In Old Kilfennan’ remembers his grandparents through old family photos.

Teresa Page has her photo page, ‘Around The Waterside’, while Jim Doherty writes of ‘Putting Pride Back in the Waterside.’
