NI temperatures as high as Rome but come with tree pollen warning

The Met Office for Northern Ireland has forecast that today will be “bright with plenty of sunshine”.

After a chilly start with patchy frost and fog it will feel “rather warm in the afternoon sunshine”, say forecasters.

However, onshore winds keeping it cooler around the Irish Sea coast. The maximum temperature wil be 15 °C.

Any cloud will fade away during this evening with mainly clear skies overnight. However, frost will develop in some rural locations with a few mist or fog patches by dawn. The minimum temperature -2 °C.

The cheery spring weather looks set to continue tomorrow with Met Office forecasters predicting a “dry and bright day with sunny spells”.

However, pollen counts for Northern Ireland have been rising this week and will continue to be high today and tomorrow bringing discomfort for hay fever sufferers. The levels are due to return to medium on Sunday.

The Met Office has detailed that tree pollen is in peak period, with the main types being birch, ash and some willow.
