Weavers sew up new skills

LARNE-based craft group, The Weavers, got their new season off to a flying start with a workshop in the Cotton Shed in Portadown.

The group learned how to make bias strips and then used them to make a Celtic cushion. The outing was finished off with a lovely lunch.

The Weavers are very grateful to Larne Borough Council for helping to fund the group and also to the PSNI who provided transport.

The crafting continues as the ladies look forward to learning new skills and developing old ones.

They are presently doing ‘Stump’ work and then they will move on to using machine embroidery to create pictures with tutor Lorna McIlrath.
