Wedding dresses exhibition opens atGarvagh Museum

Garvagh Museum is set to stage The Big Day' a fascinating month-long exhibition of vintage wedding dresses and photographs.

The exhibition will be officially opened by mayor Michelle Knight-McQuillan this Friday evening and will run from Saturday, May 7 to Saturday, June 4.

The exhibition will largely cover styles throughout the entire 20th century right up to the 1980s.

The oldest dress is one from the early 20th century that has come from a local lady just outside Garvagh.

The museum also put out a request to local people to send in their wedding photographs and these will also form a central part of The Big Day.”

The museum is open Wednesdays 3pm to 8pm and Saturdays 11am to 4pm.
