Wedding ring thieves hunted

Police have released images of a wedding ring stolen in a burglary in the Templegrove area of Londonderry on Thursday, September 3.

They released the photograph of the wedding band with a criss-cross pattern, as well as images of a gold ring with a ruby and diamond setting; and a gold ring with a five garnet setting, which were also taken.

In addition a gold ring with one opal setting and hollow square earrings were stolen.

“If anyone becomes aware of attempts to sell on this jewellery, or has any information about the burglary, police call police, “Investigating Officer Constable Moody said.

Meanwhile, police are also appealing for information following burglaries in Stoney Wood and Donal Casey Court.

Inspector Sam Shearer said that at about 2.15pm on Wednesday, September 9, a resident returned to her home at Stoney Wood in the Prehen area to find it had been broken into. A quantity of jewellery was stolen.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw unusual or suspicious activity or vehicles in the area.

Meanwhile, shortly after midnight on Wednesday, police received a report that a 50-inch TV, an Xbox and a PlayStation had been stolen form a flat at Donal Casey Court.
