Wee Jay wins Scottish PFL Goal of Month by landslide

Wee Jay Beatty has won the Scottish Premiership FL goal of the month - by a staggering 97% of the vote.

The 11-year-old’s Celtic fan’s landslide win was announced by his hero, former Celtic player Georgios Samaras, in a video message today.

Striker Samaras took time out from training with his current side Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia to deliver a touching personal message.

The Greek star, 29, said: “Jay my friend, me and you are the same, scoring goals. I’m very happy to announce that you won the goal of the month.

“Well done pal, great job. I miss you and I love you. See you, Jay.”

Proud mum and dad Aine and Martin Beatty are overwhelmed with the support.

Aine set up the Downs and Proud charity after Jay was born with the condition.
