August promises to be a busy time for the dad-to-be because of the FedEx Cup playoffs and the Ryder Cup inScotland.

His wife has a five-year-old daughter from a previous marriage.

McDowell’s father, Kenny, confirming the news, said: “The baby is expected at the end of August.

“It will be our sixth grandchild and we are delighted.”

Close friends and family attended the couple’s low-key wedding in the Bahamas last autumn followed by a celebration in 55 North Restaurant at Christmas.

The current World Ranked No15 joked last year that he had “overachieved” when Kristin agreed to become his wife.

According to sources, McDowell had designs on the 33-year-old brunette from the moment he hired her company to work on his palatial Lake Nona home almost three years ago.

An interior designer by trade, Kristin met with the Ryder Cup star to consult on the plans for his home and he was instantly smitten.

The pair began dating and McDowell brought her to Portrush, where she was given the seal of approval by his parents Kenny and Marian.

He later revealed: “I did it properly, getting down on one knee.

“She had no idea what was going on and was shocked and stunned. I even found myself getting a little bit emotional.”
